Event Date

The UC Davis College of Biological Sciences DEIJ Committee invites all CBS staff, faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students to join the next DEIJ training session. Light refreshments will be provided, and registration is required.

About the event:

This workshop is designed to promote inclusiveness and respect in the work and learning environment at UC Davis by exploring actionable applications of our Principles of Community. Participants will explore the challenges and opportunities of developing specific actions to enhance equity, diversity and inclusion through the principles and begin to envision a framework to support their larger organizational efforts to advance these priorities.

Elizabeth Moon is a dedicated advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) with a deep commitment to fostering welcoming and inclusive environments. Her career spans teaching roles in Houston, Texas, and South Korea, as well as positions at American River College and the University of California. Over the past decade, Elizabeth has contributed significantly to the UC community, including as Associate Director of Career Development and Chief Diversity Officer at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management (GSM). At GSM, she established the Action for Diversity Community Group, collaborated on the DEI Strategic Vision and Goals, and expanded LGBTQ+ representation. As the inaugural Director of Workplace Inclusion and Belonging for the UC Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR), Elizabeth leads the development and implementation of DEI initiatives, partnering with administrative and academic units, affinity groups, and the ANR DEI Advisory Council to promote a culture of respect and belonging. Elizabeth holds an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language from California State University, Sacramento, a B.A. in Anthropology from George Washington University, and certifications in diversity standards and coaching. Beyond her professional pursuits, she enjoys beach walks, Broadway musicals, and embracing joy with friends. She is based in Davis, California.
