Dr. Christopher Lopez, Ph.D, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at the California State University, Sacramento State.

Our lab is interested in exploring how bacteria adapt to stress and changes in nutrient availability. We primarily study anaerobic bacteria, particularly those that live in the human intestines, and takes a multi-disciplinary approach that includes bacterial metabolism and genetics. The goals of the Lopez lab are to train students in microbiology and molecular biology research and to promote diversity and inclusion of students in science.
