The Northeastern University College of Science offers the empowering professional Master of Science in Biotechnology and Master of Science in Bioinformatics, designed to prepare students for impactful careers. Students are educated for employment across the life sciences, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries, with preparation relevant for a broad set of opportunities. Both the MS Biotechnology and MS Bioinformatics combine rigorous scientific training with professional skill development, enabling graduates to be immediately productive in industrial, academic, governmental, and clinical settings. 

We now offer the MS Biotechnology and MS Bioinformatics at the Northeastern University Oakland campus. In the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, our Oakland campus provides students with access to world-class education, including cutting-edge fields of genomics, proteomics, personalized medicine, drug discovery, and cancer therapy. Each MS includes local training opportunities through the renowned Northeastern University co-op program, where students gain valuable work experience with leading employers in the Bay Area. The MS Biotechnology and MS Bioinformatics position students to meet the demand for a highly skilled workforce across a large array of careers.

Summer Institute for Emerging Managers and Leaders 

The Summer Institute for Emerging Managers and Leaders (SIEML) offers an all-expenses-paid immersive business and career leadership experience for undergraduate students currently enrolled in their sophomore or junior year at an HSI (Hispanic Serving Institution).

Accepting Applications - Fred Hutchison Cancer Center's Summer Undergraduate Research Program

The Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) is an intensive, nine-week internship for undergraduates entering the summer before their final year, semester, or quarter of study. It's designed to provide research experience and mentorship for students interested in biomedical research. Under the guidance of a faculty mentor, interns will complete an independent research project and present their findings at a competitive poster session.

Aggies Leading the Way! 2025 Undergraduate Leadership Conference

The Center for Leadership Learning will host its free annual leadership conference for undergraduate students of all majors and minors, Aggies Leading the Way! (ALW), on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10 am to 5 pm at the UC Davis Conference Center on campus.

This year’s conference offers two tracks based on class levels to meet you where you are in your journey. First- and second-year students will explore how to design a fulfilling college experience. Third- and fourth-year students will explore how to design pathways for life after graduation.

Nkonzo Wildlife Internship Opportunities

Seeking dedicated interns for durations ranging from 2 to 16 weeks to contribute to conservation and research initiatives.

Join Nkonzo Wildlife in an immersive study of white rhino behavior, with a specific focus on understanding the effects of dehorning—a crucial technique employed to mitigate the risk of poaching. This opportunity allows participants to engage directly with a team of dedicated rangers and seasoned researchers, working on the front lines of conservation. Interns will participate in fieldwork that involves tracking rhinos, monitoring their health and behavior, and collecting data that will contribute to comprehensive conservation strategies. The insights gained from this study are vital for developing effective measures to protect these majestic creatures.

In addition to hands-on experience, interns will delve into the complexities of wildlife management and conservation science. Contributions will play a significant role in shaping policies and practices aimed at ensuring the survival of white rhinos in their natural habitats. This project is not only an opportunity to make a tangible impact on rhino conservation but also to enhance understanding of ecological balance, species protection, and the challenges facing wildlife conservationists today.
